to showcase local artists’ work and
engage the community with unique art
and technology exhibits. In addition
to Fairgrounds, Keep St. Pete Lit and
Tombolo Books are also featured in The
Factory’s new space.
As St. Petersburg Mayor Rick
Kriseman noted at the ceremonial
ground-breaking for the new Frances
McSwain Pruitt & J. Crayton Pruitt Arts
Education Center, it is the local arts
community that makes St. Petersburg
such a special place to live. “When
we talk about what’s great about St.
Petersburg and why people want to
move here, it’s because of arts and culture,”
Kriseman said. “We are blessed
by the many artists and museums here.
That’s why people want to be here.
When you see vibrancy, you see art.
They go hand in hand.”
