Tibbs Talk!
Hello everyone! My name is Tibbs
and I am so excited to contribute
to Eggy’s column! I was adopted
from an animal shelter in Louisiana in
September 2021. Now I live in Texas with
my mother Veronica, and my tia, Vanessa.
Although the shelter didn’t know my actual
birthday, the estimate they gave me put me at
around eight months old, and boy has it been an
adventure so far!
My mom is an accounting manager who works a
lot. Luckily, her job allows her to work from home
sometimes, so that I can stay by her side all day. My
favorite part is when she’s off for lunch because I lay
under the dinner table by her feet, hoping I get a crumb
or two!
My tia Vanessa is LATINA Style’s Social Media
Coordinator. She tells me stories about Eggy and
Wonder all the time. I won’t lie; the first few days she
came home from work, I was pretty jealous because
she smelled like another dog. Now that she’s told me
everything about them, I’m so excited to meet them!
Being a puppy is a lot of hard work! My family
gets onto me all the time because they claim all I
do is “sleep.” However, they have no idea what
goes on behind the scenes. Let me tell you about my
daily routine!
I get up at 6 a.m. every morning to the restroom.
My mom wishes I didn’t have to go so early, but hey,
when you gotta go, you gotta go! Once I’m back
inside, I can hear my tia Vane getting ready for work. I
know she’s awake because she plays music every
morning. It can be quite loud at times, but I don't mind
because it helps me get back to sleep.
While my mom and tia get ready, I’m on guard
duty! I keep an eye out at the window to make sure
everything looks safe and sound. For the most part, the
only suspicious activity I see outside is a bunch of
squirrels. My family tells me to be friendly to them, but
something about them scares me. So I bark at them to
keep them away and remind them that I’m the only
furry creature permitted around here!
Then it’s time for my daily workout! Looking this
good isn’t easy. I love to keep myself in shape. Leg
days are one of my favorite days of the week. I sprint
up and down the stairs as quickly as I can until I’m
exhausted, or my family forces me to take a break
and hydrate.
My job for the rest of the day is to help distract my
family whenever I can. I can feel when they are
stressed or worried, so I cuddle up with them and
reassure them that everything will be okay.
I want to help them in the same way they helped
me avoid spending the rest of my life in an animal
shelter. I’m super grateful to my entire family for loving
me and spoiling me even when I act up sometimes.
I’m having the time of my life, and I’m not even a
year old! Thank you for taking the time to read a
little about my life, and please remember, adopt rather
than buy!
