Saint Peter’s
Healthcare System
Saint Peter’s Healthcare System has been woven
into the fabric of Middlesex County for more than 110
years, caring for and improving the health of generations
of families who live, work and study in the area.
The system, sponsored by the Roman Catholic Diocese
of Metuchen, includes Saint Peter’s University Hospital,
a 478-bed acute-care teaching hospital and statedesignated
children’s hospital and regional perinatal
center, and Saint Peter’s Physician Associates, a
network of primary and specialty care physicians.
Saint Peter’s is a regional specialist in bariatrics,
breast health, cancer care, diabetes, gastroenterology,
geriatrics, orthopedics and women’s services, as well as
head and neck surgery for complex ear, nose and throat
conditions in children and adults. The Children’s Hospital
at Saint Peter’s University Hospital provides families with
access to a full range of pediatric specialties, including
a nationally recognized Level III Neonatal Intensive Care
Unit, pediatric surgery and orthopedic surgery featuring
innovative anterior scoliosis correction.
A regional leader in maternal health services, Saint
Peter’s offers a range of comprehensive care, from
those with high-risk pregnancies to the most holistic
environment for low-risk pregnancies in its new Mary V.
O’Shea Birth Center.

Middlesex College
Middlesex County is also home to Middlesex College,
a public two-year institution in Edison. Middlesex
College offers 87 degree and certificate programs,
contract training and numerous non-credit courses,
allowing its students to explore, grow and thrive.
Together, dedicated teaching faculty, small classes
and state-of-the-art learning technologies prepare
students for transfer to complete advanced degrees
and for 21st-century careers.
At Middlesex, students receive the best value available
for a quality education with low tuition and fees,
scholarships and finnancial aid programs. Day, evening,
weekend and online courses are offered for full-time or
part-time students at the main campus in Edison, as
