To save room for the healthy calories
you need, you should not drink water 30
minutes before or after your meals.
Avoid caffeinated drinks (teas, coffee, etc...)
and alcohol; both are dehydrating and not
recommended after Bariatric Surgery.
To increase the amount of pure water that
you consume, try gradually adding a few
extra ounces in each day, as your body
tolerates it.
A good starting goal is to try to drink
1 cup of water between each meal.
To further help prevent malnutrition and
dehydration it is important to eat a variety of
fruits and vegetables along with drinking plenty
of zero calorie, non-sugar sweetened beverages,
preferably water!
