Chocolate Strawberry Hearts
sweetcsdesigns.com/homemade-lucky-charms-treats/
INGREDIENTS
• 1 pint of strawberries
• Meltable chocolate, such as chocolate chips
• Toothpicks
• Nutella (optional)
• Red sparkle gel (optional)
PREPARATION
1. Wash the strawberries and cut off the stems.
2. Cut the strawberries in half, length-wise. If using
Nutella, cut out a small triangle from the middle of
the strawberry halves.
3. Cut off a small part of the edges of the strawberries
to make them pointier and more heart shaped.
4. Take a toothpick and insert it through the two
halves of a strawberry to create a heart shape.
5. Take a paper towel and dry the strawberries on
both sides - this will insure the chocolate will stick
to the strawberries.
6. Add Nutella to the bottom (cut-open) side of the
strawberries, if desired.
7. Place the strawberries on a cooling rack with
parchment paper underneath the rack.
8. Melt the chocolate according to the instructions
on the package. If the chocolate is still very thick
after being melted, stir in 1-2 teaspoons of vegetable
shortening.
9. Spread a thin layer of the chocolate onto the
strawberries.
10. 1Allow the chocolate to cool and harden.
11. Drizzle the red sparkle gel overtop the chocolate,
if desired.
