Ten Red Sox prospects participated in the week-long Rookie Development

Williams Jerez and Bobby Poyner; and right-handed hurlers Ty
Buttrey, Justin Haley and Mike Shawaryn took part in the annual
program that helps to educate rookies on the many facets of life in the

The program included two daily workouts on January 17 at The Bubble
at Boston College that emphasized conditioning and strength training
��������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������
the media and attended a number of seminars that focused on how to
������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������
attendees assisted in painting murals at the Dimock Center – a provider of
high quality, low-cost health care and human services to Boston residents
– in Roxbury, MA, and on January 17, they visited with patients at Boston
