Frame Those
Special Mom Moments!
Being Mom to three children has been an interesting journey, as well as a rewarding
experience. Every day I see them blossom, whether learning a new subject at school
like poetry, observing them grasp the concepts of a sport like soccer or tumbling, or
simply getting along with one another while they are playing a board game!
However, when I look at my kids I just wish I could slow down the clock and keep
them from growing up so fast. It really does seem like the years have gone by so
quickly, and I think to myself, “If only I could just freeze them in this moment.”
Of course, one of the best ways to preserve these times, is to sit back, soak them all
in, and enjoy it all while it lasts. In addition, remembering to take lots of photos to see
their transformation gives me an opportunity to look back at these memories.
So, after thinking about my kids growing and brainstorming a craft idea for Mother’s
Day, I decided to take a few of those photos and turn them into foam characters on
an easy picket fence creation.
DIRECTIONS:
To get started with this Mother’s Day craft,
rst place the craft sticks in a design to
look like a picket fence. Then, use the glue
to adhere the pieces together and allow
the craft sticks to completely dry.
Next, take a cup and use that to create
a circle over the top of the faces on the
photos. Use the pen to trace an outline
of a circle and take the safety scissors
to cut this out.
Then, take a photo and use it along with the
pen to create the outline of ower petals.
Cut this out and use it as a template to
make additional ower shapes.
Once you have all the parts of the ower,
take the green fuzzy stick, circle photo,
and ower shape, and glue them together.
To do this, simply start with the ower
shape, add glue to the back of the photo,
place the fuzzy stick in between them and
press down. Be sure to allow the ower to
dry completely.
Then, take a pipe cleaner and loop it
through the back of the picket fence
shape so the frame can be hung up.
If you would also like to create this craft
for a special Mom in your life, here is what
you will need:
- Various colors of foam sheets
- 7 Jumbo craft sticks
- Printed pictures
- reen fuzzy sticks, AKA pipe cleaners
- lue
- Cup
- Pen
- Safety scissors
Finally, to attach the owers, weave the
fuzzy sticks through the fence, and twist
them to the craft sticks.
As you can see, my kids’ ower faces
turned out so cute, and it really looks like
a fence! I hope this craft makes your gift
giving a little easier this year, and your
family has a wonderful time celebrating
Mother’s Day.
