man relations as well. Having pets
during stressfull times can lesson
pain, anger, worry, reduce depression,
and, therefore, lowers blood
pressure. In terms of encountering
grief, the loss of a pet is often the
first experience individuals have
with death and dying. Denial,
anger, bargaining, depression and
acceptance are all tough and agonizing
lessons in life. But we learn
to internalize and grow from these
moments and appreciate those
around us as well as prepare us
when we deal with these moments
again.
Our relationship with our pets,
unlike human children, maintains
a consistent co-dependency that
is mutually beneficial and encourages
selfless love. As animals
we all have a need for interaction
and comfort. Our pets provide us
a mean for physical and mental
activity, physical and emotional
therapy, and simply remembering
what play-time is all about. It's a
win-win!
