• SOAR - Special Organized Adult Recreation offers year-round
social and recreational programs for adults with special needs.
The program is currently held at our Parrish Branch.
• Elite Sports Performance - Fitness programs for children,
adults, and elite middle/high school athletes that promote agility,
speed, strength, conditioning, and leadership.
• Swim Lessons - Our new swim lessons structure provides
opportunities for thousands of children and adults in Manatee
County to learn water safety, drowning prevention, and stroke
technique each year.
Manatee YMCA Nifty Thrift Shop
The YMCA Nifty Thrift Shop is open in Palmetto, and we need
your help! In order to support our mission, every dollar earned at
the Thrift Shop will help children and families in our community.
Donations are accepted at any of our branch locations and
at the Thrift Shop. Items may include clothing, furniture, toys,
kitchenware, sporting equipment, books, electronics, tools, and
art. Pick-up and delivery services are available for large items by
calling (941) 212-4652. To shop for your back to school needs,
visit us at 627 10th St. E., across from Walmart and behind
McDonalds. Y Members receive a 10% discount at the Thrift
Shop with membership card!
Fun New Fitness and Athletic Programs
A summer at the Y is sure to keep you active, no matter what age
you are. We have many family-friendly programs at the Y such as:
• Adventure Guides – a parent/child camping program
• Olympic Weightlifting
• Sports such as soccer, karate, tennis, and basketball
• Birthday party packages
• Elite Sports Performance programs for kids and adults
