Enjoy that while it lasts), but lack of sleep will start to catch
up with you. It can cause mood swings, weakened immune
system, lack of focus, and even premature aging. Try and
come up with a target bedtime, so you can get between 7-9
hours of sleep at night.
Sunshine: I know, it’s Texas, and it’s really hot, but I am
not asking you to sit in the sun for hours! Studies have
shown that just 15 minutes of sunshine a day can improve
your mood, strengthen your immune system, and help you
get in your Vitamin D for the day. Y’all, I’ve been doing this
every day for the past few weeks, and I love it. It’s almost
addicting, and I really look forward to just sitting in the sun
every day.
Meditation: Now, before you just roll your eyes, hear me
out. Our health is not just what we eat and drink, but also
what we think. If you’re constantly putting yourself down
in your mind or feeding negative thoughts, then all that will
come out of your mouth and actions are negativity. We’ve
sitting out in the sun for 15 minutes each day, I am also
to, or sometimes I pick a Bible verse or phrase and repeat it
over and over in my mind during that time. Trust me, this is
a game changer.
Soul Enriching: So, I’ve given you a list of things
that may not sound like too much fun. Some of it might
until you get into the rhythm of a new routine. However,
this is something you can easily do. Find at least ONE thing
that is enriching for your soul each week. I can’t tell you
with a friend, a massage, an epsom salt and essential oil
These are just a few of many ideas you can do. Just pick
one and do it each week even if you feel like you don’t have
enough time for it, because your soul is worth that time
investment.
I hope this was helpful for you. I wrote this for you, but also
for myself. I still need reminders often to take better care
of myself, and stick to my self care routine. Let’s challenge
and encourage each other on our own journey towards
better self care… because you are worth it.
