I am writing to you because I got the
Winter-2017 Dedicated Decades and
I think it is amazing. I just recently
started studying the Catholic Faith.
I want to overcome self and worldly
desires, and to know Jesus personally.
I am 31 years old and I suffered abuses
as a child, was raised in a family of
addicts and criminals, and was never
educated about God. I started doing
drugs when I was 11 years old, and
drinking and stealing in the 2nd Grade.
My mother died when I was 14 and my
dad was never around. I lived the
street-life dealing drugs and doing
crimes. I have been in and out of jail
my whole adult life. I am serving a 12-
year sentence. It used to make me
mad when I heard people talk about
God. Then, I began to study all the
Protestant Denominations because I
wanted to find the one that was right.
Then, I met a Catholic man who showed
me the Rosary. I read the Imitation of
Christ and, now, I am half way
through with “This is The Faith” by
Cannon Ripley. I am a sinner, but God
is changing me. I am ready to give my
life and do God’s Will. I no longer desire
the American Dream (American Lie).
I only desire to please God. Your package
is one of the most amazing gifts I have
ever received. I spent days reading all
that you sent. Please continue to feed
my soul and pray for me. I pray that
God will accept me regardless of my
past. < Christopher - TN >
I received the package with my Decade
and the History of St. Philomena. I
could not put the book down. I am
now ready to pray my Decade and the
St. Philomena Novena. What I enjoy the
most is the Roman Catholic Calendar.
The Montfort Unit chaplain is not very ...
how should I put it, “Catholic friendly?”
The main thrust is Protestant Bibles,
services and studies. They tried to convert
me but I declined and proudly told
them that I was Catholic. They asked
me if I had found Jesus. I answered
that I did not know He was lost! You are
a godsend in these times and your
materials are timely and uplifting.
Thank you. < Miguel - TX >
Finally, I have received an approval
for the green Rosary! We have a brother
here who suffers from the early stages
of dementia and Alzheimer. If I could
get something with St. Philomena’s oil
on it, I can place it near his head and
ask St. Philomena to heal his disease.
His name is David. He started his Decade
the same day I started mine. I feel the
Rosary is what keeps him going. Thanks
for all you do for the incarcerated men.
< Thomas - FL >
Peace be to you! For Lent this year, I
gave up coffee. In prison, there aren’t
many luxuries to give up. I drank coffee
every day in the free world so, for me,
it was the hardest thing to do. I had
caffeine headaches for a week but,
every time I desperately wanted to
make a cup of coffee, I would think of
the Passion of Christ and would tell
myself: “If He did that for me, this is
the least I could do for Him.” I thank
God for the grace to be strong in my
resolution. < Deborah - TX >
I had to write a huge ‘Thank You!’
I received the materials you sent and
am overwhelmed with your thoughtfulness
and generosity. I promise, each
and every item will be used in a manner
worthy of Our Lady and St. Philomena!
I am working in close unity with the
small mission parish near my home.
Thank God for all you do for us. One
day, you will be granted the grace to
learn what an impact you have had on
so many souls. My journey to re-establish
myself in my community may seem
daunting, but I am quite confident.
Before I left prison, I also made my
Total Consecration to the Blessed Virgin
Mary. She has covered me with her
maternal love, and guides and protects
me daily. How can I not succeed? Rest
assured of my prayers, < Josh >
