Pope Pius XI defined Catholic Action
as the participation of the laity in the
apostolate of the Church’s hierarchy.
The aim and end of Catholic Action
must be the establishing of the whole
human race under the Kingship of Our
Lord, Jesus Christ. It is a continuation of
the Redemption and a perpetuation of
the Incarnation.
Every grace of Catholic Action is
bestowed through Mary and every soul
that is led to God, is led by Mary; no
new stronghold of the Kingdom of
Christ is established without the active
cooperation of Mary. Christ is Priest
by nature! Thus, it follows that His
ordination took place at the very
moment at which He became Man.
Christ became Priest at the very
moment of His Incarnation and it
follows that His ordination took place
in the pure womb of Mary. The consent
of Mary was the sign for the sacred
ceremony to begin. Mary became an
altar of sacrifice from the first moment
of the human existence of her Divine
Child. Christ living in Mary, offered
Himself for the restoration of the
divine life of men.
Veneration of the Blessed Virgin and
our Total Consecration to her, have
only one goal: The formation of the
Christ-life by Mary in each of His
members. Veneration of Mary forms
in us the very Life of Christ. We strive to
humbly imitate Mary. Again and again,
sick and wounded, we return to Mary,
begging her to heal our spiritual
wounds as She once lavished loving
care on the wounds of the Body of
Christ handed to her from the Cross.
All of our apostolic success comes to us
from Mary; every grace of conversion
is dispensed by her to whom She wills,
when She wills, and as She wills.
St. Augustine wrote:
“All the predestinate, in order to
be conformed to the image of
the Son of God, are in this world,
hidden in the womb of the most
holy Virgin, where they are
protected, nourished, brought up
and made to grow by that good
Mother, until She has brought
them forth to glory after death,
which is properly called their day
of birth.”
