had a strong devotion to St. Philomena
since his youth. He suffered a broken
rib, lacerated liver, head injury and
large gash on the left forehead. It took
four hours for the wrecker to extract
him from his crushed vehicle. The
staff at the hospital could not believe
he survived the crash. He had the Last
Sacraments and was able to receive
Communion. Although, they had cut
all his clothes off, his Brown Scapular
and religious medals had not been
touched. He was wearing the holy cord
of St. Philomena. Recuperation was
slow; it took 3 months. He made his
previously scheduled wedding three
weeks after the accident and says they
will name their first girl, Philomena. His
wife is now wearing the St. Philomena
cord! He is back at work now fully
recovered. < Jane - USA >
My husband had to go for tests on his
head. The doctors found a cyst 8 mm.
in size in the third ventricle of the
brain. A biopsy was taken. We prayed
with all our hearts and asked our
friends to pray. Brain surgery would
likely kill him. Today, the pathology
tests came back. It is a benign cyst,
no surgery is necessary and we are
to keep a watch on it. Thank you,
Saint Philomena. God is so Good!!! < Geraldine - USA >
My wife and I were staying far from
each other because of our jobs. She
was 7 months pregnant and the area
she was working is one with much
witchcraft. She began to feel sick and
the doctor told her that something was
wrong with the baby, and he doubted
that the baby was healthy. I told the
doctor, “Do nothing till I arrive.”
I carried with me the holy oil and
wrist and waist cords which she used at
once. The following day, I brought her
home. She continued using the holy
oil and wearing the cord until her safe
delivery. Our baby is doing fine. Since
that time, we have dedicated our lives
19
to God through praying the Rosary and
distributing the materials we receive
through the ULRA. Thank you!

One of our members, Rose Bepi,
shared her testimony with me. She
suffered from a fractured arm. The
doctors recommended an operation but
she refused. She decided that surgery
was no option and what was needed was
a huge thrust towards normalcy: Time
to pray, time to love, time to trust and
hope. She decided to go on her knees
to God for her healing. After fervent
prayers to St. Philomena through Jesus
and Mary, she applied the holy oil to
her shoulder. Thanks be to God, she is
now healed. Nothing is impossible to
God! < Agnes - PAPUA NEW GUINEA >
Here are some testimonies from Good
Shepherd Parish, Wewak, Papua New
Guinea:
I was very angry
when my house was
burned down and
I wanted to take
revenge and hurt the
people who were
responsible. One day,
I prayed the chaplet of St. Philomena
and I found peace in my soul, and
forgiveness in my heart. Thank you,
St. Philomena! < Anton >
