DeMiglio’s eccentric conviction
eventually wore both his family and
Chef Fabian down, and “The Beast,”
the Callahan’s Hot Dog food truck that
re-launched the iconic local brand,
began rolling through the county
streets in 2014. The rising popularity
of food trucks along with the excitement
surrounding the return of Callahan’s
propelled the newly formed
business to heights nobody saw coming,
“Except for me,” DeMiglio says
laughingly with that excited twinkle in
his eye.
A year later to the outpouring of
thousands of “Callahan’s Kids,” the
name aptly chosen by DeMiglio for
fans of all ages of the iconic brand,
DeMiglio cut the ribbon on a small
storefront in Norwood, literally re-cementing
Callahan’s place in Bergen
County’s heart.
Unlike Kroc, who essentially stole
the idea of McDonald’s from its namesake
brothers and for a long while
said it was his idea,
DeMiglio is both
humble and gracious.
“I couldn’t do it
without my team,
without my parent’s
support, without all
the people cheering
us on day after day,”
DeMiglio admits. “I owe so much to
all of them, it’s what drives me to
continue on this path and continue
to evolve.”
Callahan’s is far more than hot
dogs now, as DeMiglio continues
venturing further to give Callahan’s
Kids what they want: original, delicious
and fun items. Much to
DeMiglio’s credit, these new items are
often social media eye candy, which
DeMiglio has utilized to amass a hefty
following that gets the inside scoop
on all of Callahan’s next moves.
“I’ll walk into the kitchen one morning
and there’s Chef Fabian. I look to
see what he’s up to and next thing I
