Math Teams: The High Pointe math
club competed in Branson earning
top ten honors in three categories.
The Nixa Junior High math
team competed at SBU
Bolivar’s annual math
league competition and
out of 135 students that
competed, Angela Lee
earned seventh place
in countdown round,
seventh place in sprint
round, and advanced to the
state competition. Meghana
Nakkanti earned 14th place in
countdown round, second in
target round, and advanced to
state. The Nixa Junior High math
team also competed at Drury
University against 18 area private
and public schools.. The math team
ranked fourth place advancing Nixa’s
team to the state competition. One
additional Nixa student advanced
to state by scoring in the top 36

With over 50 submissions from across
the United States and abroad, Inman
Intermediates Positive Behavioral
Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
video was a fi nalist in the National PBIS
Film Festival and was screened at the
national conference in Washington D.C.

Cheryl Huson,
principal of SCORE,
at the Springfi eld
Black Tie event for
demonstrating
excellence in
affi rming LGBTQ+
identities and raising
awareness of best
practices in support of
LBGTQ+ youth.
Out of 1.6 million students who took
the PSAT, Nixa had the following
award recipients for the National
Merit Award program: Amanda
Obeso scored in the top 2.5% for
all Hispanic students and received
Hispanic Scholar Award. Mark Meads
and Carson Neal scored in
the top 3% and received the
Commendation recognition.
Raegan Allen, Shelby Berry,
Emma Roesler, & Arianna
Swensen scored in the top
1% were named as
Semi-Finalists.
