Dr. Mike: Yes, absolutely. Your beliefs are going to have a
huge impact on how you respond to your lifestyle. Lifestyle
is one aspect of it, but how are you leading your lifestyle?
I think that joy in life is so important to recognize. Recognizing
where it is in your life. Because if you’re not having
joy in your life, then you are having more stress hormones.
I think it is so important to get into a belief system that
supports what you want to do. And in terms of health, what
is your health philosophy?
Moxxie: So let’s talk about the present. You are a husband
and father to three awesome kids and a beautiful wife that
is also your business partner. How do you balance all of
that?
Dr. Mike: Tara and I work hard on setting goals for what
it’s all about what today is going to make us feel good. It’s
table. It is totally about what today, is going to make us feel
good? What today, is going to make us feel good this week?
important.
Moxxie: That sounds amazing. Almost simple, but I’m
sure it’s a constant growing experience, especially with
three kids. So, thinking back a little ways, pre children
phase, how did you know that Tara was the one for you?
Dr. Mike: (totally blushing) Ya know, I knew really early
on that I wanted to marry Tara, but on a maturity level, I
didn’t know if I wanted to get married. So I think it took me
a lot longer to propose than what I naturally felt. But I think
that we both felt it early on. We both felt like this was the
right thing. We are totally meant to be together.
Moxxie: So what’s your secret to the very visible and
tangible passion you and your wife have, 11 years and 3
children later?
Dr. Mike: Ya know, we kind-of touched on the spiritual
element and I think the spiritual element is so important.
We touched on knowing yourself and really knowing what’s
important. And I think the past couple of years, Tara and I
have really focused on what do we need? What are you doing
Tara, that you don’t want to do? What are you not doing
that you do want to do? Another huge thing that we work
on is making time for date night. Ya know, I want to go on
a date night with my wife every week. It’s so important that
we have that time together and making sure that it happens
every week is so important. It’s one of the highlights of my
week. Date night with Tara.
Moxxie: This has been such an amazing morning. So
much more than I ever planned or could have asked for.
Your energy and your wisdom and your presence is simply
regenerating and refreshing. Thank you so much for sharing
so much about yourself and your life and your passions.
Any last words for our readers?
Dr. Mike: Nikki, this has been a great experience. We certainly
talked about things I didn’t think we would talk about
and it’s been great. I suppose I would leave with this:
“It takes so much courage. But you have to be courageous.
There is something in all of our lives that we want, and
maybe you feel like you can’t have it. Maybe you actually
have a belief that you can’t have something that you know
you want. I think that changing that internal dialogue is so
huge. We have to change our pattern of thinking to that of,
what will it take to make you feel uplifted? What would it
take to make you feel inspired? What will it take to make you
feel passionate? Let’s start asking more of those questions so
that we begin to attract those kinds of experiences.”
