Let us not concern ourselves with
small personal interests! Let us
not waste tears on things of minor
importance! Let us embrace the
Universe! Jesus Christ died for all
men, why weaken our hearts with
less noble desires?
Ven. Pauline Jaricot, Mother of the
Missions, was God’s instrument in
giving the Church the most admirable
works of the 19th Century, which today
procure the extension of His Reign to
the ends of the earth. Pauline was an
apostle, contemplative and victim soul
who transmitted the fire that consumed
her to the members of the Living Rosary
through her circular letters and the
superabundance of her spiritual life. In
serving, loving and sacrificing herself,
she made Jesus loved and
served. Pauline gave everything
to Christ: her health,
her life, her good name, her
affections and her fortune,
that you and I might have
the precious gift of the
Living Rosary. So that she
would more perfectly
resemble Christ, He put her
on the Cross! She was
betrayed, robbed of her
fortune, assailed by creditors,
rebuffed and scorned. God
permitted this so that she,
who lived for Him and for the salvation
of her brothers, would in her last day
follow Him to Calvary and, like Him, die
for those who condemned her. Christ’s
most Precious Blood was poured into
the heart of Pauline that it might be
spilled out upon the whole world.
Pauline united the two most powerful
weapons to conquer the Heart of
God and of man:
Self-Sacrifice and
Love without Measure!
If we are to remove the mountain of
iniquity, we must take our ten grains of
sand (our DECADE) and, every day, move
this amount. Years may pass before a
new mountain will be formed. Yet, in
the Eyes of God, something much
bigger than a mountain will be moved!
It is the humility of God’s dear ants
who, hoping against hope and believing
against all appearances, never cease
t o remain at work.
By offering our AVEs each day, we
will have carried poor sinners to the
sanctuary of the Mysteries of Jesus
Christ. The grace of our union will
affect the conversion of sinners, the
preservation of the Faith in our own
country and its propagation throughout
the world. Our prayers
united through the whole
universe will mobilize all
men into full missionary
labor.
It is in the Sacred Hearts
of Jesus and Mary that I
rest forever, united with
you, and am your devoted
sister and servant.
