Dear Apostles of the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
Through your gift of prayer and charity, the Light of Faith in
the world is nourished, cherished and followed faithfully. The
fire of your love warms human souls which have grown cold,
lights the way and inspires hearts. So much is at stake! How
easy it is for us to be pulled away from an intimate life with
God. It can be our own doing, the tyranny of work or the
clutter of concerns that make us, little by little, incapable of
meditation. Our hearts are empty or too full, our work is overwhelming
and urgent, our fervor for silence and prayer turns
ice cold. What are we without prayer? What kind of soul can be
God’s friend, who is unable to talk to Him, listen to Him and
remain with Him in silence? Our lives lack the very thing that
makes them worthwhile.
Our strength lies in solidarity among ourselves and with the
apostolic activity of the Church. We cannot remain merely on
the fringe of it; we are at the center and source of its actions.
Today, more than ever before, the Church needs us! Above all,
