A Haywood County
MICHELE ROGERS & JORETTA EZELL
talk about their 22 year friendship, finding a deep connection
with one another, being there through the loss of a child, laughing
to loud and annoying their husbands.
MICHELE: So do you remember the first time we
met?
JORETTA: Yes, I do remember that.
MICHELE: It was March 1999, and we were at a
mutual friend, Shane Moody's house. I was dating,
Ricky, and you know, "breaking in" if you will, to
Haywood County is pretty tough. It was definitely
tough in the 90's. When I moved here, I didn't know
very many people. My last name was Marasko, and
there are not any other Marasko's in Haywood County.
And you welcomed me with open arms. You didn't
make me feel like an outsider. You took me in, and we
immediately started hanging out. It was the first time I
actually felt like I belonged in Haywood County.
