OCEAN CITY BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE
The Town of cean City Beautication Committee works in partnership with the Department of ecreation
and Parks to bring the beauty of trees and color to our barrier island home. The volunteer members
are appointed by the Mayor and City Council to help determine the needs of the town for the planting,
maintenance and protection of all trees on the streets and in the parks of cean City. Also, they make
referrals for the enforcement of the landscape code and are the appeals boards for landscape violations.

n the last riday of April, the Beautication Committee celebrates Arbor Day with the help of the
second grade students of cean City Elementary chool. During the festivities, the Mayor is presented
with the ational Arbor Day oundations Tree City A award and the MD Community orest Committees P.L.A..T. award. Each summer, the
committee tours the town to review nominated properties for Beauty pots for which the Mayor and City Council will present awards at a regular
meeting in eptember.
nside the oland E. Powell Convention Center is a beautiful metal sculpture where someone or a special occasion can be honored or memoriali
ed by purchase of an engraved leaf. The funds raised from this project recently placed an impressive water feature on the Centers north outside
wall as well as live palms for the interior. Applications are at the sculpture, on the towns website or at 1-25-2.

OC RECREATION BOOSTERS
The Ocean City Recreation Boosters is a non-prot, independent community organization made up of area
residents and representatives from various local community organizations that join
their talents and resources to support the youth recreation programs offered by the
Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department. The Ocean City Recreation Boosters
is made up of an executive board, civic organizations and members-at-large.
The OC Boosters current membership list includes:

Ocean City Recreation Boosters organize events and engage in fundraising activities that help to lower the fees for
recreation programs offered to the area children.
Annual fundraising activities include: The annual Swing for Youth Golf Tournament; hot chocolate sales during
Winterfest; shirt sales at the annual St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament; and wine booths at Springfest, Sunfest and
Sunset Park Concerts, and other events. The volunteers also offer their time and talents at a variety of events
hosted by Ocean City Recreation and Parks, including our annual Halloween Spook-Out, annual Easter Fun Shop
and athletic tournaments. Ocean City Recreation Boosters are critical to the continued success of Ocean City
Recreation programs. They are always looking for more volunteers. If you are interested in helping and/or joining,
