LOADING & UNLOADING A DUMP TRAILER
CAUTION
Ramps are NOT RATED for load bearing capacity. They will NOT support the load
bearing capacity of the trailer. Do not overload the ramps.
Dump Ramps Installed
• Secure the cargo to the trailer using appropriate straps, chains and tensioning devices. Refer
to www.fmcsa.dot.gov for regulations regarding cargo securement rules.
• Remove ramps and place in storage position. If equipped, close ramp covers and install safety
• Close and secure rear doors.
• Remove blocking under rear of trailer.
Slide-In Ramp Capacity Ratings
Please note that there are variables that may affect slide-in ramp load capacity such as length
of equipment loaded; speed of loading equipment; track vs. wheeled equipment; speed of the
equipment transferred via the slide-in ramp, etc. Also, note that if the operator of the slide-in
ramps approaches maximum load capacity certain preventative measures should be taken.
These measures include but are not limited to “blocking” in
order to help support the center of the slide-in ramps. For questions or concerns, please contact
customer service.
