Friends of
Boca Grande
Friends of Boca Grande Community Center has
planned to accommodate safety precautions while
keeping the entertainment industry alive and well.
Despite a challenging season to plan, Friends has
prepared to carryout digital events, a path they were
already planning to pursue before the pandemic
changed the landscape. The offering of livestreams
and prerecorded programs will continue, even after
the green light is given for the informative talks, music
programs and live performances to return to normal
(or normal, as we now know it).
To kick-start the 2020-21 season, Friends took a
digital approach. This year marks the debut of their
content for Friends@Home. Livestream lectures have
been proposed from mid-October through the end
of February, with cultural and educational topics sure
to peak anyone’s interest. Friends@Home is fl exible
for the public to enjoy anywhere at anytime. The
livestreams are scheduled for real-time viewing, or
can be watched as prerecorded programs.
The media library can be accessed by visiting
friendsofbocagrande.org or call the offi ce at (941)
964-0827. Friends is grateful to have the consistent
support of the Boca Grande community, especially
given the year that has been nothing short of
unexpected.
