A Visit Tim Skibitsky
Meet Tim Skibitsky of Family First Home
Inspection Services who seeks to help families
protect their greatest investment with a
thorough home inspection. For the full story,
see “Protecting Your Investment” from the
Front Page.
Your inspiration? Doing the right thing,
whatever that might be. Obviously there is
Someone above us. Do unto others as you
want them to do back to you. Have a kind
heart; be genuine; help people out. Life is too
short to not be kind.
What advice would you give others
following their dreams? Don’t give up, but
don’t accept where you are. Keep striving
for more. At the end of the day, if you’re not
better than when you started, then you let the
day go by. Learn something new every day.
Improve yourself. We only have one life, and
it’s better spent looking back on what you’ve
done, than looking back and wishing you had
done something differently. You can’t change
the past, but you can control the future. If
you want something, then go for it! The worst
thing that could happen is you fail, but some
of the best learning comes from failure. Don’t
be afraid. Don’t give up.
Life is... Life is a journey. Take in every
moment of it. You can’t go back in time. Enjoy
what you’re doing. If it’s not fun, then make a
change. If your friends aren’t nice, then find
new friends. We’re all born with a sense of
moral value, and we should maintain it.
Favorites around Moore County? We love
the local restaurants like Ironwood. We love
the small southern quaintness of Southern
Pines, Lakeview, and Aberdeen.
Moore County is? Moore County is home.
I don’t see myself leaving. It’s the small town
southern charm that hasn’t sold out to big
chain stores. Moore County is growing, but
MOORE LIVING con't. next column
it’s still quaint. Talk about location! Want to
go to the beach? 2 ½ hours, and you’re at the
beach. Want to go to the mountains? 2 hours,
and you’re at the mountains. You couldn’t ask
for anything better! ☐ For more, see Front Pg.

Meet Melanie Gayle
Join the conversation as we get to know
Melanie Gayle, CEO of the Sandhills Children’s
Center which has been serving the Sandhills
since 1970. Working for thirty-two years
with the Sandhills Children’s Center, Gayle
enjoys her time with the children on campus.
Welcoming children who have special needs
to typical, the Sandhills Children’s Center is a
very special place serving our families in both
the Rockingham and Southern Pines areas.
How long have you been in Moore County?
I moved to the area thirty-two years ago, and
I can’t imagine living anywhere else. I live in
Whispering Pines, and my oldest daughter
lives about two miles away from me.
Do you have any favorites around town?
Restaurant 195 is my favorite!
Moore County is? The best of all worlds!
We have all the restaurants we need. It’s safe.
It’s not complicated getting around. I think
the schools are working hard to provide the
best education they can. We have a lot of
collaboration, and I think being in a smaller
area is conducive to that.

Special Place Called Sandhills Children's
