The ROSARY is a
wondrous summary of
everything the Church
loves, venerates and
honors in this unique
creature, the Virgin
Mary, in order that we
may know Her joys, Her
sorrows and Her glories.
But the diamonds and
rubies of these fifteen
Mysteries must always
remain embedded in
the crown of Christ the
King: a crown forged of
the joys, the sorrows
and the glories of the
God-Man, the Son of
Mary.
Let us look now with hearts truly
moved and through eyes misted with
tears, upon a picture fit to ravish the
heavens. On the first Christmas night,
we see the Angels as they sing their
“GLORIA” and the shepherds who
adore with Joseph, the Child-God in
His crib. In their midst, on Her knees,
is the Virgin Mary who kisses and
presses to Her heart this Child, Her
God and Her Son, by whom the whole
world was created! She is, indeed, the
Ark of the Covenant, ever beautiful,
ever holy! Mary is the only creature
who touches the throne of the Most
August Trinity, for it is She who is DEI
GENITRIX, Mother of God!
From a historical standpoint,
the Rosary has
never been merely a
tender devotion of
private piety. On the
contrary, from its very
beginning, the Rosary has
manifested the vigorous
signs of a redoubtable
spiritual crusade against
the enemies of Christ
and His Church. The
Rosary had its origin
on the field of battle. It
was raised as a fortified
wall around the City of
God to protect it from
invasion by the heresies
which, according to Our
Lord’s prophecy, would
be the scourge of every age. How very
urgent is a crusade in our day!
“Among the various public prayers
which we successfully address to the
Virgin Mother of God, the Holy Rosary
occupies a particular and distinct
place. In the time of the Crusades,
one voice, one single supplication
arose from all people throughout
Europe. Today, also, the people must
seek by their insistent entreaties to
obtain from the powerful Mother of
God that the enemies of Christianity
and human civilization be deterred
and true peace may shine upon
tired and disturbed men.”
(Pope Pius XI,
Ingravescentibus Malis - Sept. 1937)
Today, the Turks and Albigensians no
longer threaten the Catholic frontiers
but other heresies have been unleashed
and will continue until the glorious
second coming of the Savior-King.
The heresy of corrosive materialism
has poisoned the people and de-
Christianized the masses and the
working class. This heresy, like a lashing
sea of anger, strives furiously to bring
about a godless domination of the world.
