“I can’t get this food from anywhere else”, is a
common expression heard everyday at Cincy’s Finest
Market, located at 28798 US 19 N. in Clearwater. They
come from as far away as Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville
and Ocala to stock up on food products that were
mainstays of their native and beloved Cincinnati. Many
of their favorite products can be found here and some
visitors even come prepared with ice coolers so that they
may take frozen items home with them.
If you are familiar with Cincinnati food products you
will be delighted to know that you may find many of
your favorites in stock.
Customers flock to the store to buy Glier’s Goetta,
which is similar to Pennsylvania’s scrapple, and fully
cooked slabs of Montgomery Inn BBQ ribs (Known as
the “RIB KING”), La Rosa’s Pizza, salad dressings, pizza
sauce and meatballs along with Grippo Potato Chips
and a full line of Esther Price Candies. This is also one
place where you
may buy a JTM
Hoagie Kit and
Grippos fat-free
pretzels made
just they way
they used to in
the early 1800’s.
There is a full line of Hussman’s potato chips and
popcorn. Don’t miss a chance to pick up some
Graeters’ Ice Cream. This product alone is worth a
visit. They offer such unique flavors as Toffee Chocolate,
Banana Chip, Chocolate Coconut Almond and
Black Raspberry. They also have handmade ice cream
from United Dairy Farmers, another Cincinnati favorite.
There are over 100 specialty food items in the store.
The market is located at 28790 US Hwy 19, next door to
Skyline Chili.
Anyone who has travelled to
Cincinnati knows that it is famous
for its chili and no one has
probably done more to
perpetuate that brand than
Skyline Chili. It all started
with a Greek immigrant,
Nicholas Lambrinides who
brought his family recipes with
him to the U.S. in 1949.
Skyline Chili uses these family recipes as the foundation
for its famous brand. The chili is rich, spicy and
delicious.
Customers have an opportunity to try the chili in
different formats, such as the
classic Coney cheese dog
with Skyline Chili, served in a
steamed bun with a specially
made hot dog, mustard, diced
onions, and a mound of fresh
cheddar cheese. The chili is
also served with steaming spaghetti
and topped with cheddar
cheese, known as 3-Way Chili. Other variations include
serving it red beans and or rice and diced onions. I highly
recommend that you try the Black Beans and Rice
as a side dish. The beans are seasoned and simmered to
delight any palate.
The atmosphere at Skyline Chili is reminiscent of a
60’s style diner and one may be served at the counter or
at tables. Its clean, the prices are inexpensive and they
also have a full line of salads from which to choose as
well as Burritos, chili bowls and even a few vegetarian
items. Skyline Chili is also served on steamed potatoes.
There is a Kids Menu, so make it a family affair. They
also are available for takeout orders.
