ART IS EVERYWHERE
A Bus Shelter Like No Other
This oversized bus shelter by artist Clayton Swartz was made possible by a public / private partnership
between the Richmond Group, the developer, the PSTA and the City of Pinellas Park.
THE RICHMOND GROUP THAT DEVELOPED THE
upscale apartment complex, The Epic at Gateway Centre,
funded the commission of metal artist Clayton Swartz to
design and build this bus shelter at 3115 Grand Avenue in Pinellas
Park. It is certainly the most artistic and best looking bus stop
serviced by PSTA. This space-age-looking piece is named “Summer
at the Park.” Clayton Swartz was selected to create the shelter
based upon his creative design for the project. Beautiful enough
to be at home in any art gallery, the work is characterized by
Clayton’s unique style of metal construction with vibrant colors
and inspirational images layered together. From every angle, the
shelter, the bike rack and even the garbage can are both practical
and spectacular.

From every angle, this is a good example of
how art can add character and interest to almost
any practical structure, even a bus shelter.
