I envision a progressive development in the
areas of culture and the arts. There will be new
restaurants, art galleries and shopping venues.
Our options to play will be abundant as Tampa
Bay continues to create its unique flavor and
style as a metropolitan melting pot. Our
community will evolve to be more health
conscious and make healthier choices as
restaurants and progressive grocery stores
fulfill that need by providing those options.
In all, I see 2015 as a healthy, creative and
energetic year.
George Cretekos
Mayor
City of Clearwater
On May 27, 2015, Clearwater will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its
incorporation as a “city.” Activities are being planned for the entire year for
participation by residents and visitors. The city will also continue to promote
itself as the “Best Beach Town in Florida” and expand opportunities for hightech
companies and other businesses to be based in Clearwater. The completion
of the US Highway 19 construction will enable the City and property owners
to focus on the redevelopment of this major corridor. Emphasis on
sports tourism and implementation of the Urban Land Institute
recommendations will be another priority. In summation, the city’s Centennial
Year should be “sparkling.”

Dunedin Fine Art Center
This is an incredibly exciting time for Tampa Bay as organizations, government
and businesses reach across the Bay to communicate and work together. We
are building a vibrant, beautiful and much sought after metropolitan area
where art, culture, education and business thrive. The Dunedin Fine Art Center
has seen the growth and excitement that comes with building a greater today
and tomorrow. Residents and tourists alike embrace our warm shores, exciting
visual and performing arts centers, excellent higher education and world-class
medical facilities. The renewed care for our Gulf Coast region offers a clear
signal that we have an engaged population who appreciate and want to
heighten its beauty and quality of life. Here at DFAC, we are lucky indeed to
be part of this artistic, cultural and environmental renaissance. Our Tampa Bay
region is truly a work of art.
