Cool Art Show
The 29th annual Cool Art Show will be held on July 15th and 16th in
St. Petersburg’s historic Coliseum. It will feature work from more than
75 artists in mediums such as paint, wood, ceramics, metal, glass and
fiber. This year’s show is juried and sponsored by PAVA, the Professional
Association of Visual Artists. The Coliseum is located at 535 Fourth Ave.
N., and the show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Admission and
parking are complimentary.
This jewelry was made by Marilyn Vaillancourt, one of the many
outstanding artists who will display their work at the Cool Art Show.
Doneene Loar, a Florida assistant state attorney, was one of last year’s
Fashions with Flair models.
Fashions with Flair
The Clearwater Community Volunteers’ 14th annual Fashions with Flair
fundraiser will feature a staged runway fashion show of ensembles from Pippa
Pelure boutique on Beach Drive in St. Petersburg, coordinated by store owner
Megan Simons and modeled by community leaders. There will be a seated
gourmet lunch, silent and live auctions, chance drawings and complimentary
valet parking. The luncheon will benefit PAL, the Pinellas Sheriff’s Police
Athletic League of Lealman Sports Complex and Winter Wonderland. This
fashionable event will be Saturday, September 16th at the Historic Fort Harrison,

An Art Showcase
The United Nations Association
of Tampa Bay is presenting an event
on July 27th at the Morean Center for
Clay that will showcase live art, while
promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment. The interactive event
in St. Petersburg will present artists such as Ya La’Ford, Marlen Rose and Helen
French who will create art that will be auctioned at the end of the evening. The
event will benefit CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse). For more information,
