DANIEL ULBRICHT (New York City Ballet)
was born in St. Petersburg, Fla., and received
his training at the Judith Lee Johnson Studio
of Dance, studying with Lenny Holmes. He
also trained with Javier Dubraq, Jean Pierre
Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride. In 1999,
Ulbricht was invited to train in the Winter
Program at the School of American Ballet
(SAB). In 2000, he became an apprentice with
New York City Ballet, joining the company in
2001, becoming a soloist in 2005 and a principal
dancer in 2007. Ulbricht is the founder and
director of Stars of the American Ballet, the
Creative Director of NYCB’s Family Saturdays
program, the artistic advisor to Manhattan Youth
Ballet and the artistic director of the New York
State Summer School for the Arts in Saratoga
Springs, N.Y.

YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX (YAGP) is the world’s largest
student ballet scholarship audition and a global dance network,
connecting dance students, teachers, schools, companies, alumni,
sponsors, dancers and choreographers to audiences worldwide.
YAGP annually conducts the world’s largest student ballet scholarship
audition, awarding more than $300,000 in scholarships from the leading
dance schools worldwide. Since its founding in 1999, over 80,000
young dancers ages 9 to 19 of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds

Youth America Grand Prix brought this highly acclaimed Gala evening to Tampa, Fla. in 2012, after
more than a dozen years of presenting Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow galas in New York,
Sao Paolo, Brazil, Osaka and Tokyo, Japan and Mexico City, Mexico.
Featuring emerging dance talent, alongside major international ballet stars, this performance gives
audiences an insight into both the present and the exciting future of dance in one spectacular evening.
Now in its sixth consecutive year, the YAGP Gala, as always, features YAGP alumni who now enjoy
successful professional careers in dance.
