VISIT AND TAKE A TOUR AT THE
TYBEE MARINE SCIENCE CENTER!
Want to learn more about the creatures and
waters surrounding Tybee Island? Then visit the
Tybee Marine Science Center providing yearround
programs. Walk the beach, cast nets into
the ocean, learn about turtles, or trek through
the marsh. Join one of the many Marine Science
Educator-Guided Walks including Talks & Treks!

If you are staying on Tybee during the nesting
season (May 1 - Oct 31), please do your part in
program that has been put into effect to protect
nesting Loggerhead Sea Turtles. Tybee Island urges
people to turn off or shield lights coming from
structures visible from the beach by 9pm.
EXPERIENCE AN AQUARIUM
UGA MARINE EDUCATION CENTER!
The UGA Marine Education Center and Aquarium,
located in Savannah on Skidaway Island has 16
exhibits showcasing a variety of Georgia’s marine
life with most species caught by the aquarium
staff right off the coast. There is a public touch
tank allowing you to get up close and personal
with Georgia’s marine invertebrates such as snails
and crabs. Picnic tables line the bluff outside
and provide a perfect spot for lunch or a snack.
