The Nautical City Festival is a Rogers
City tradition going back four decades.
It was organized a few years after the
city’s centennial celebration in 1977 and
has blossomed into one of the town’s signature
summer events.
For some Rogers City families, it’s
the one time of year they make sure to be
here and have circled on their calendars.
It’s also a big time for class reunions and
friends to getting re-acquainted.

It all starts with the crowning of a
new Miss Rogers City. Linnea Hentkowski
is the current queen. She will present
her crown to the new queen, signifying
the start of the 2018 festival.
The harbor parking lot is a hub of
activity and it’s where the big tent is set
up. There is food, activities and plenty
of entertainment, all put together by the
Nautical Festival Committee, who have
brought many of the festival favorites
back, while working on new features behind
the scenes.
