it is unincorporated, it does not have its
own mayor or town hall. Instead, it is
governed by the Martin County Board of
Commissioners.
The Board of County Commissioners
their own district within Martin County.
Hobe Sound falls under District 3 and
current District 3 Commissioner is Harold
Jenkins. Commissioners are elected by
voters in the county, and those elected
serve a four-year term.
The Board of County Commissioners
acts as the main, local governing
body for Martin County. As such, it is
responsible for providing local laws
and programs, disaster and emergency
services, construction and maintenance
of infrastructure and other governmental
services.
All meetings of the Board of County
Commissioners are open to the public,
and citizens are encouraged to attend.
