Third Coast Comedy Club

Naturally, the interest in seeing major names in
comedy leads to desire to see local comedians.
Watson describes as “the only brick-and-mortar
comedy club in Nashville dedicated to improv
comedy with improv shows every week.” He tells
readers of Nashville Notes that the Third Coast
Comedy Show pulls from improvisers who’ve
trained in cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, and
New York City. “In addition, we serve as a home
to local comics with the mission of providing a
stage for every type of comedy, including standup,
sketch, improv, variety, experimental, and
much more... We operate on a season schedule
(Jan.-April, May-Aug., Sept.-Dec.) with about 150
shows per season. This robust schedule means
we have shows nearly every night of the week.
In addition to performances, we have a training
center for improv, stand-up, and soon sketch.”
Watson’s space may be for the LOLs, but he’s
not kidding when he says that there’s a robust
live event calendar. Some events to look for
(Thursday, October 31 - Saturday November 2),
which will serve as “Nashville’s very own improv
festival, featuring over 30 troupes from across
Third Coast Comedy Show, which feature shorter
and longer styles of improv comedy. “The entire
show is made up on the spot with the help of
suggestions from the audience–no two shows
are alike!” says Watson. “The Third Coast Comedy
Show cast is composed of improvisers from
all over the country who have been trained by
veteran improvisers from schools of improv that
include The Second City, iO (improvOlympic), The
the best improvisers in Nashville, this is THE
show to see!”
