Building Blocks
The task challenges a student to demonstrate understanding of area, surface
area, and volume. A student must be able to analyze characteristics and
properties of three-dimensional geometric shapes and apply appropriate
formulas to determine measurements. A student must
understand the dierence between area, surface area,
and volume; read given diagrams of three-dimensional
shapes and calculate, using formulas, area, surface area,
and volume. This activity will provide students with the
chance to:
