Sign of Company’s
Continued Growth
In a move that will make the
company safer, more efficient and
more modern, Martin Marietta’s HR
and safety professionals in October
transitioned to a new Safety Center
supported by Applications International
Corporation.
The new, cloud-based system is highly
mobile, offers customized reporting
and, so far, has won rave reviews from
those who will use it most.
“It’s definitely user-friendly,” says
Charlotte District HR/Safety Manager
Christy Miceli, who learned how to
effectively utilize the new Safety Center
in September. “It’s visually appealing
and has greater reporting functionality
than its predecessor. There will be a
learning curve for sure, but overall,
I think this will be a great time saver.”
Senior Project Manager Anne Bari,
one of a team of professionals from HR
and Safety, and Information Services
who worked to identify and then integrate
the new Safety Center platform, says
the process began in late 2017 with
high-level discussions about what
capabilities Martin Marietta’s safety
teams would need as the company
continues to grow.
“Our first priority was finding something
that would be scalable,” she says.
“We also wanted something that would
be highly customizable with mobile
capabilities. Our new Safety Center has
those things and supports all of our
safety practices.”
Central and South Texas HR Director
Terry Doyle says Martin Marietta’s move
to the new Safety Center is a strong
step forward.
“One of the most exciting benefits of
the new Safety Center is that it allows
for far more robust reporting,” he says.
“I think it really will allow us to serve our
employees better and more efficiently.”
Bari says the Safety Center is integrated
with Martin Marietta’s existing programs
and can be easily accessed using a
tablet. Anyone with questions on the new
Safety Center is urged to contact Safety
System Specialist Dawn Andrews at

The Safety Center was selected, in
part, for its improved mobility.
