Alabama Brothers
Celebrate 40 Years
of Service
They started work at the same Martin
Marietta quarry just one week apart.
Now, the Lutz brothers are celebrating
40 years of service with the
company.
“He’s Mr. Dependable – the first on
site and the last to leave,” said O’Neal
Plant Manager John Henderson of
Luther Lutz, a foreman who joined the
company on Oct. 1, 1979. “Luther has
a good personal and working relationship
with everyone on site and will do
whatever he can to assist in making
this place safe and successful.”
Brother Marvin Lutz, a yard loader
operator, will celebrate his fourth
decade with Martin Marietta on Oct. 8.
According to Henderson, Marvin Lutz is
valued just as much for his demeanor
as he is for his skill.
“He’s acquired a vast amount of
knowledge during his time in the mining
industry,” Henderson said. “He’s
also typically the one starting everyone’s
day off with a good laugh.”
