Prairie Dunes Country Club, the legendary course known for its
challenging play as well as its beauty is a gift to the golf world from
the Emerson Carey family. The private course has hosted the 2002
U.S. Women’s Open, the 2006 Men’s Senior Open and the 2014
NCAA Men’s Golf Championship.
It is described by golf legend and honorary member Tom Watson
as, “A touch of Scotland in the Land of Oz. Sunflowers instead of
heather, oceans of grain instead of the sea.”
Course honors include Golf Digest’s American’s Greatest Golf
Courses (#25), Golf week’s Best Classic Courses (#12), Golf Magazine’s

Carey Park Golf Course offers very reasonable rates and a relaxing
atmosphere. Eighteen holes of challenging yet enjoyable golf are
found at one of the best municipal courses in the state. Tee times
can be made up to a week in advance. A driving range, pro shop,
snack bar, club and cart rental are also available.
Crazy Horse Sports Club & Golf Course is described as a challenge
in a relaxing, picturesque backdrop. The 18-hole championship
golf course includes 6,650 yards of golf. The course is cut out of
the sand hills and features Zoysia fairways lined with native grass.
Tee times at this semi-private course can be made up to a week in
advance.

RECREATION
Looking for the perfect spot to play disc golf in the Hutchinson area
where you can show off your skills, incorporate strategy, compete
with friends and be in nature?
The 18-hole disc golf course at Carey Park winds its way along the
park’s outer edge. Set around a fishing lake with a little elevation
created by man-made berms, this course is mostly open with a mix
of mature and new trees. With a variety of challenges, this course is
good for the experienced and amateur alike. The course has concrete
tee pads throughout and is considered cart friendly. It plays
host to the Salt City Open every August.
The newest disc golf course is at Rivers Banks Orchard Park and
was developed in 2018 in cooperation with a local group of disc
golfers. This course is a moderately wooded technical course with
plenty of elevation and challenging holes. It has cement tee pads,
multiple pin positions and is considered somewhat cart friendly.
