ARLINGTON
A charming small town in Reno County with under 500 residents, Arlington is a place were
everyone knows your name. Visitors are welcome to discover the quieter way of life that
makes Arlington so special. Stop by and enjoy the beautiful natural landscape, attend a
local craft show, or grab a bite to eat at one of their local restaurants.
BUHLER
Relying on the traditional values of personal integrity, respect for others, honesty, and
dependability, the support of this local community helps create an appealing quality of
life. Beautiful parks with recreation facilities provide opportunities for leisure activities. We
encourage you to visit this unique city and spend some time in beautiful Wheatland Park,
go shopping downtown, and pause for a quick lunch or a leisurely evening meal.
HAVEN
Conveniently located along the K-96 Corridor between Wichita and Hutchinson, the City of
Haven offers a small town atmosphere and relaxed quality of life. Enjoy local K-12 schools,
grocery, dining, and retail. Unlike many small communities, Haven’s bustling downtown
area is busy anytime of the day.
PLEASANTVIEW
In July 1883, the families of Abraham Nisly and Christian Bontrager got off at the last stop on
the Santa Fe line in Hutchinson, Kansas and established roots. Today, more than 100 years
later the descendants of these Amish families still live in Reno County, now called the Pleasantview
Community. Come spend a day in Pleasantview and visit the 17 businesses that call
this community home.
PRETTY PRAIRIE
It may be the rodeo that brings you to town for the first time, but the friendly people and
unique brand of Western hospitality keep visitors coming back. You’ll love the fun-filled,
family atmosphere of Kansas’ Largest Night Rodeo every July. Enjoy a round of golf at the
Links at Pretty Prairie, a challenging 9-hole, links-style golf course with bluegrass fairways
and bentgrass greens.
SOUTH HUTCHINSON
In 1887, the first salt in this area was discovered in South Hutchinson by the town’s founder,
Ben Blanchard. Salt has continued to be an important part of the town’s history. At one
time, South Hutchinson was home to 17 salt companies, and still today Morton Salt has a
large plant located in South Hutchinson. While in town, stop by to see the Reno County
Veterans Memorial and experience the small town atmosphere.
YODER
In 1906, A.M. Switzer plotted the little town of Yoder as a central point for surrounding Amish
communities. Though many businesses and homes have moved in around Yoder, the picturesque
town has stayed the same size. The town is a quaint mixture of the past and present, as
horse buggies are intermingled with cars and trucks. Stroll down the streets in the quiet and
quaint community that boasts several unique and timeless treasures in its welcoming stores.
