HORIZON WEST THEATER COMPANY
A community theater group with a mission to
encourage performing artists and volunteers to
create quality theater arts, offer opportunities for
participation in all aspects of theatrical production,
and provide education to enhance and connect our
community. Adult and kid workshops & productions.
HORIZON WEST ROCKS!
Children and adults alike can participate in the
popular trend of painting, hiding and finding rocks!
Simply get a rock, paint it and hide it, and then leave
a hint in the @HorizonWestRocks Facebook group so
others can find it.
O ur community is still in its formative stages,
meaning that we, the residents of Horizon West,
have the opportunity to write the script!
After years of commuting to reach arts programs across
Central Florida, I realized that I didn't have to wait for someone
else to create the opportunity I was looking for closer to
home. Surely the second fastest growing community in the
state of Florida had other creative-minded individuals, right?
So, I took a chance and responded to a post in the Horizon
West Happenings Facebook Group. That post was
inspired by a conversation our now Horizon West Theater
Company President, Ron Baumanis, had at a HW-based
community lunch meetup group. These face-to-face and
online conversations led to a small group of us theater folks
finding each other and, just like that, the Horizon West
Theater Company was born! A simple spark led me to
connect with neighbors that have similar interests, and
inspired us to jump-start a theater program together!
Because we are an emerging community, we get to shape
the future of artistic opportunities in Horizon West. Arts
encompass film, music, dance, theater, painting, public art,
and so much more. There is no limit around what can be
expressed through an artistic outlet.
In fact, did you know that art is the highest expression of
the human spirit? A key part of truly living an enriching life
here in Horizon West includes embracing and nurturing the
arts in ways that result in each of us being touched by it
daily – in both large and subtle ways!
