era of opportunity
A UNIQUE TIME TO BE HERE
Horizon West was designed to be a thriving community
of mixed-use housing and businesses. In the last few
years, after a period of not much movement following
the 2007 housing bust, this area started to see an increase in
development.
Now in 2020, the growth is record-breaking. More than
half of new residential building permits in Orange County
are for homes coming to Horizon West. Between 2019
and 2028 Horizon West is getting about a third – 7 of the 19
– planned new schools in Orange County. The brand new
Orlando Health ER campus opened in 2018 in anticipation
of the growth coming towards its location on Porter Road,
and Valencia Community College owns land for a future
campus just around the corner. Orange County has evolved
what was previously known as the Horizon West Sports
Complex into a Regional Park concept on Tiny Road, next
to Bridgewater Middle School - which spans 215 acres
(about 1/3 of the size of New York's Central Park). Out
of the six village centers, three are currently at various
stages of being built out and three have yet to even break
ground, with the southernmost village of Ovation (I) just
now beginning residential development activity.
This exponential growth warrants services and products
to meet the needs and wants of residents and space for
businesses to setup shop to fill these needs is available
now – with more in the planning phase to go vertical over
the next 1-5+ years.
