There will be free admission to the
gardens for all ages including adults, and
all are welcome to play, wander, relax and
learn, every day of the week from 7 in
the morning until 5 p.m. Karen Williams
Seel, a Pinellas County Commissioner, says
this garden will provide a much needed
resource to connect children to our natural
environment and help to meet a mission
of the botanical gardens to promote
and educate children on environmental
stewardship.
Supporters of the Florida Botanical
Gardens have raised $1.1 million of the
$1.5 million goal to complete the Children’s
Garden and are in need of additional
sponsors and donors. This project will
enhance the gardens tremendously through
its creative and playful opportunities. 9

The gardens are located at 12520 Ulmerton
Road in Largo. This honeycomb structure will serve a number of functions at the garden.
The opportunities for children to learn and play at the new garden will help them
engage with nature and form a bond with the environment.
