This neighborhood restaurant
has been serving popular Mexican
style food for a decade . I
first discovered them right after
they originally opened in 2004
and I am still a big fan.
One of the things that I enjoy
about Poblano’s is the casual
atmosphere and spacious, yet
homey feeling that one enjoys, either
at table or booth seating. The wait
staff treats its customers with genuine
warmth and the best of Latin hospitality.
Large Mexican movie posters adorn its
walls and their colorful themes add to
the South of
the border
visual experience.
The huge
granite
counter top,
U-shaped bar
is popular
with locals
and visitors
alike. Don’t miss the Tuesday – Sunday
Happy Hour specials from 3-5 PM.
99 cent tacos are featured on Mondays
along with delicious margaritas for only
$2.29! Several television flat screens
allow many good views of current news,
sport s and special events, from the bar
and dining areas.
“We want our guests to feel welcome
and
our staff is
trained to insure that our service is second
to none”, says owner operator Juan
Yannuzzi, adding that, “we are adding
some new menu items to
our authentic Mexican
cuisine, for our guests to
enjoy”. Currently, Poblanos
offers all of the popular
Mexican food menu
items one would expect to
find. Their signature drink
is the Poblano Margarita
made with Partida Silver
Tequila, fresh squeezed
lime juice and
agave nectar. With
a full service bar,
one may expect to
select from a wide
array of popular
drinks, including
made to order
Sangria.
I like to start
with an appetizer.
Table side guacamole is one of my
favorites because it is prepared the way
that each customer wants it. Guests
may choose a little more or less of the
various ingredients to produce that
perfect scrumptious blend. Other starters
include a variety of queso (cheese)
dips, Fajita Nachos and Flautas, which
are deep fried rolled corn tortillas with
shredded beef or chicken and served
with guacamole and sour cream.
Tacos include standard variations
with chicken or shredded
or ground beef and fish. Fajita
lovers will not be disappointed
and may choose from shrimp,
steak, chicken, vegetables or a
combination, which come to the
table still sizzling and steaming hot.
Tuesdays they feature “two for one”
fajitas from 4:30 PM to close. There is
something on the menu to please every
Mexican food lover, Enchiladas, Chimichangas,
Quesadillas, Burritos even a
variety of Mexican salads. Try the Tortilla
Soup, a cilantro based soup, with
shredded chicken,
Mexican rice and
corn tortillas.
One of the most
popular menu
items are the
Pollo Picoso and
Burrito Grande.
