may contribute to heart disease and diabetes.
“Left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to
multiple health issues. From a preventative
medicine standpoint, the condition should be
screened with the same urgency as diabetes
and high blood pressure,” says pulmonologist
Erick Kimmerling, DO.

Say Goodbye to Spider Veins
If you wish your legs were free of spider veins,
now is the time to schedule an appointment
with the experts at The Vein and Laser Center
at Hamilton. Erasing your spider veins is
easier than you think. Most procedures are
fast, painless, and require very little recovery
time. That’s great news for you and your legs!
Sclerotherapy is one way that spider veins
can be remedied. This treatment consists of
injecting a sclerosing solution through a very
fine needle into the spider vein. The solution
irritates the lining of vein and causes it to
swell and stick together. Over time, the spider
vein will turn into scar tissue and fade from
view. Sclerotherapy is a minimally invasive
procedure that causes minimal discomfort
and little to no downtime. Most normal
activities can be resumed immediately.

sleepiness, and morning headaches.
Additional risk factors for obstructive sleep
apnea include:
• A family history of sleep apnea
• Obesity
• A large neck
• A recessed chin
• Gender (men are more likely than
women to suffer from sleep apnea)
• Smoking or alcohol use
Eighty percent of people with sleep apnea do
