Addressing the needs of Latina professionals and business
owners has been the mission of the LATINA Style Business Series
since 1998 and today’s mission is no different.
The program could not be made possible
without the support of Nationwide. During
the morning, Lory Burgos, Sr. Consultant,
Enterprise Diverse Marketing, Nationwide
spoke on behalf of the company.
The first panel of the day, titled The Essentials
of a Successful Business, touched on the
vast resources for business owners.
Moderated by Marla Bilonick, Executive
Director, Latino Economic Development Center,
speakers included Veronica Tubman, Stakeholder
Liaison, Communication and Liaison, IRS;
Catalina Martinez, Esq., Attorney Advisor, Small
Business Administration; Meridith Satz,
Senior Manager, Certification, WBENC.
The second panel of the day, Successful
Marketing Strategies: Promote Your Business
and Yourself, was moderated by Mariana
Barrientos Roig, Co-Founder & VP of Strategy,
ROIG Communications, LLC. Speakers
included Laura Ramirez-Drain, Founder
& CEO, Random Words Marketing Group
LLC; Steven Eiger, Lead Channel Manager,
Business Marketing, EVP of Communications
– HACEMOS, AT&T, and Anna Davalos,
Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Alejo Media.
Emmy award-winning journalist, Victoria Sanchez,
ABC7/WJLA-TV.
Gathering a distinguished group of
entrepreneurs, Latina professionals, national
and local leaders, partners, and sponsors
from throughout the country, LATINA Style
kicked-off the 131st stop of the LATINA Style
Business Series with a leadership reception at
the Sheraton Pentagon City Hotel in Arlington,
VA, on the evening of Wednesday, July 25th.
On the morning of Thursday, July 26th,
attendees were welcomed to learn about business
ownership and career development with a
networking breakfast and welcoming from
Mistress of Ceremonies and Emmy award-winning
journalist, Victoria Sanchez, ABC7/WJLA-TV.
She also introduced Nicole Quiroga, president,
Greater Washington Chamber of Commerce,
to provide welcoming remarks; Robert E. Bard,
president & CEO of LATINA Style, Inc., and
Lory Burgos, Sr. Consultant, Enterprise Diverse
Marketing, Nationwide.
“Participating in the LSBS conference
provided a valuable opportunity to connect
with powerful Latina Entrepreneurs and learn
relevant information on how to positively impact
one’s business,” shared Quiroga. “This event
is outstanding and should never be missed.”

After a networking break, attendees moved
forward to join Lory Burgos, Senior Consultant,

and Jose Antonio Tijerino, President & CEO,
Hispanic Heritage Foundation for the For Your
Leadership Side presentation focusing on
elevating personal performance as a professional
or business owner. The fourth panel of the day,
