Institute is now open! Dedicated to the memory of Anna
Sue Shaw, the Institute is a regional leader for the care of
children, birth to age 11, who experience the challenges of
developmental delays.
Construction on Anna Shaw Children’s Institute began in
October 2017, but the plans for this incredible facility began
years beforehand.
Part of the planning was conducted by the Anna Shaw
Children’s Institute Advisory Council. This carefully selected
group includes parents, educators, medical providers,
community resource professionals, an occupational therapist,
a special education coordinator, and a special needs preschool
director. The council supplied ideas for many of the special
features of the Institute.

As you approach Anna Shaw Children’s Institute, you
can see that the building was inspired by the style of a
treehouse and re��ects the beauty of the North ��eorgia
mountains. Once inside, you will experience the true magic
of the Institute–the children, families, and providers who
join together as champions in this unique place.
The Institute’s team of experts includes developmental
behavioral pediatricians and child psychologists, as well
as physical, occupational, speech/feeding and music
therapists, and behavioral analysts.
