iconic Everlasting Time
ACM’s clock tower, an iconic encapsulation
of the 1960s aesthetic of our campus’s
original design, is a beloved meeting place
for student groups, al fresco dining location,
and backdrop for countless photo shoots.
The four-sided clock tower was featured in
Kathleen “Kathy” Louise Neff’s submission
to Glamour Magazine’s Top 10 College
Women contest in 1971.
Neff, a 1969 Allegany High School graduate
and Cumberland native, attended ACC from
1969 to 1971 before transferring to FSU
where she was chosen as Miss Frostburg
State. She won the Miss Maryland pageant
in 1972 and was a top 10 semifinalist in the
1973 Miss America pageant before touring
with the Miss America USO troupe.
