Chartered in 1761, this mountain town has seen it all. Sheep
and cattle cleared the land for farming and the rocks created
our beautiful stone walls. Crown Point Road, a
military route, passes through Shrewsbury. This road served
as a highway from Charleston, NH, to Fort Ticonderoga, NY.
The population in 1945 dipped to around 400;
today it is around 1,156.
