APPLE FEST
President Calvin Coolidge Site
A celebration of the harvest, with special
attention to the apple! Tour our heirloom orchard
with its unusual and rare antique apple varieties.
The day begins with the inaugural Coolidge 5k
Marathon (and “I do not choose to run” walk) at
10:00 a.m. Special guest Anne Collins, author of
Vintage Pies, speaks about heritage harvest
recipes (and shares samples!) at 1:30 p.m.
Activities for the entire family: cider pressing,
wagon rides, historic farm and craft demonstrations,
barbecue and harvest treats, cheese
making, and guided tours of the Plymouth
Cheese Factory.

ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF
Depot Street, Ludlow
Come join the fun in this year’s chili cook-off.
The public gets to vote for their favorite chili.
Under the tent on Depot Street. Tasting begins
at 11 a.m. $8 donation for all-you-can-eat chili,
bread, cider, and ice cream.

THE FIREMEN’S FALL FOLIAGE SALE
Grafton Fire Department
One of the largest tag sales around, this
Columbus Day event combines great buys, food,
and activities for the family. The sale is open on
Saturday, October 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and
on Sunday, October 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Main Street Park, Rutland

CIDER DAYS
Belmont Green, Mount Holly
A fall festival focusing on freshly pressed cider
on a 100-plus-year-old press. About 40 vendors
fill the green with their crafts, food, and fall
produce. There is a photo contest, a huge book
sale, and on Saturday evening, October 6, a
roast beef supper…all you can eat for $12.
The historical museum is open throughout
the weekend. This event is definitely for
families. Sponsored by the Mount Holly
Community Association.
