DEVOTIONS
INTRODUCTION
Being a Christ follower is a lifelong journey. We are all
in the process of growing in our faith and knowledge
of God. Pastor Andy Stanley says, “Spiritual maturity
is measured in terms of persevering faith, not perfect
behavior.” This is good news; it means that the life of a
Jesus follower is measured by growth, not perfection.
Each time we make a choice to intentionally take steps
towards God, we become a little bit more like Him.
This week, you are going to practice some spiritual
rhythms, or disciplines. Much like a musician practices
his instrument, spiritual disciplines are daily rhythms that
help you grow in your faith.
Each day, you will be introduced to a new spiritual
rhythm. This Bible study is intended to be about action.
We want to encourage you to practice and develop some
new rhythms in your life that will stick with you when
you return home. With each new day, you will add a new
spiritual rhythm. Here’s how the week will go:
DAILY BIBLE STUDY FLOW:
Application: This will introduce you to the rhythm for the
day and provide you with some insight on how to begin
practicing the rhythm.
Study and Reflection: After learning about your spiritual
rhythm for the day, you will have the opportunity to think
and pray about it. This section will include prompts to
practice the daily rhythm.
Verse of the Day: Each rhythm is supported by a Biblical
reference to help connect you to the truths found in
God’s Word.
