SHARE A SNAPSHOT
Take some time on your
journey to pray about what
you will share when you get
home. Sharing your story can
be powerful, but you need to
be prepared for the moment.
Some people will want to hear
about every detail of your
trip: what you ate, the people
you met, what the bathrooms
were like; and some will want
to hear that it was “good.”
But most people will fall
somewhere in between. Think
through your trip and pick
one moment, one snapshot,
that you can prepare to share
well with those who ask about
your trip.
GET TOGETHER
One of the best ways for
you to process what you
experienced during your trip
is to get together with your
team after you’ve returned
home. Our hope is that the
relationships you built while
you served together will last
long after your trip. Don’t
let the friendships between
you, your team members,
and those in the community
end when the itinerary runs
out! Be intentional; get coffee
with the team members
you connected with during
the trip. If you’re friends on
Facebook, message them and
get together!
KEEP GROWING
We suggest jotting down
three areas in which you
want to keep growing after
you return home. These can
be anything from something
personal, like becoming a
better friend, to something
spiritual, like developing a
more consistent prayer life.
When you hit the one-year
anniversary of your trip, look
back and pay attention to
how the Lord has grown and
stretched you in those three
specific areas.

Your trip might be ending, but the mission isn’t over. Your return home, and reentry
into your community, is just as important as what you’ve experienced this
week! Here are some ways to set yourself up for success:
